How to get all the multimedia stuff for Mepis Linux (playing DVD, etc)
In Synaptic Package manager, then under Settings --> Repositories enable the Debian Multimedia repository
Close synaptic package manager, open a terminal (System-->Terminal Program (Konsole)) and log into root (type "su" (without quotations) and then enter the password)
enter the following commands
apt-get update
apt-get install debian-multimedia-keyring
apt-get update
apt-get install dvdauthor dvdbackup dvdrtools dvd+rw-tools flashplugin-nonfree k9copy libmad0 lame lame-extras libavifile-0.7c2 libdvdcss2 libdvdnav4 libdvdplay0 libdvdread3 liblame0 libxine1-ffmpeg mencoder msttcorefonts transcode vamps w32codecs preload
